Glamour · Golden Mile · Puerto Banús · Michelin Stars
Overview
Marbella is the undisputed jewel of the Costa del Sol, a place where glamour, natural beauty and authentic Andalusian culture exist in remarkable harmony. Few destinations in Europe can match its combination of world-class beaches, exceptional fine dining, a perfectly preserved historic old town and the legendary energy of Puerto Banús.
The famous Golden Mile, stretching between Marbella town and Puerto Banús, is home to some of the most prestigious addresses on the Mediterranean. Orange-blossom-scented gardens tumble down to private beaches, while five-star hotels and boutique beach clubs attract a genuinely international crowd of discerning travellers.
Yet Marbella is far more than its glamorous reputation suggests. Step into the Casco Antiguo (old town) and you'll find whitewashed alleyways draped in bougainvillea, flower-filled plazas and excellent traditional tapas bars untouched by the tourism that surrounds them. This is the Marbella that locals love, and that most visitors never find.
Renting a luxury villa near Marbella gives you unmatched freedom, a private pool and garden to return to after each day's exploration, space for groups or families, and the ability to live at the pace of the local Malagueños rather than the rhythm of a hotel.

FAQ
Marbella has a range of options to suit different budgets. Puerto Banús and the Golden Mile are genuinely premium, expect to pay €15–25 for a cocktail at a beach club. However, the old town and local areas have excellent tapas bars where you can eat and drink very well for €15–20 per person. Staying in a private villa actually offers excellent value compared to equivalent luxury hotels.
June to September is peak season when the beach clubs, marina and nightlife are at their most vibrant. May and October are arguably the best months, warm enough to swim (sea reaches 22°C), significantly fewer crowds and lower prices. Winter in Marbella is mild and pleasant for exploring, with golf courses at their most accessible.
