White Village · Sea Views · World-Class Golf · Authentic Andalusia
Overview
Mijas offers something rare on the Costa del Sol, an authentic taste of traditional Andalucía within easy reach of the coast's finest beaches, golf courses and facilities. The municipality straddles the hills and the sea, offering two very different but complementary experiences.
Mijas Pueblo, the hilltop white village, is one of the most visited places in Andalucía, and with good reason. Its dazzling white streets, flower-draped balconies and extraordinary panoramic views (on a clear day you can see Africa) have a timeless beauty that never loses its charm, despite the many visitors it attracts.
Below, Mijas Costa stretches along a beautiful stretch of coastline with excellent beaches, a relaxed promenade and a strong community of international residents who choose it for its combination of quality of life, convenience and natural beauty. The area is also one of the finest golf destinations on the entire Costa del Sol, with over 70 courses within an hour's drive.
Staying in a luxury villa near Mijas gives you access to both worlds, the authentic hilltop village and the coast, while enjoying the privacy and comfort of your own space with pool, garden and the natural silence of the Andalusian hills.

Tip: Arrive early morning (before 10am) or late afternoon to experience the village without day-trip crowds. Stay for sunset, the light on the white walls is extraordinary.
One of the few square bullrings in the world and one of the most charming in Spain, built in 1900 into a natural rock formation. The attached museum covers Mijas's bullfighting heritage.

The beautiful 17th-century parish church at the heart of Mijas Pueblo, with a striking blue-and-white tiled exterior and a peaceful interior. The square in front is the social heart of village life.
Tip: The mirador (viewpoint) next to the church offers some of the best panoramic views in the entire province.
The lower coastal part of the municipality stretches along some of the finest beaches on the Costa del Sol, with excellent restaurants, a relaxed promenade and easier access for families than the hilltop village.
Tip: Calahonda and Riviera del Sol areas have excellent local restaurants with fresh seafood at very reasonable prices.
Mijas's quirky but surprisingly impressive miniature museum, featuring artworks painted on grains of rice, a toothpick, and other impossibly small canvases. Children adore it.
Tip: Allow 45 minutes and use the magnifying glasses provided, you won't believe what you're looking at.
The sierra behind Mijas Pueblo offers excellent walking trails through Mediterranean scrubland and pine forests, with panoramic views over the entire Costa del Sol. The trail to the Ermita de la Virgen de la Peña is particularly beautiful.
Tip: Download the trails on AllTrails before you go. The mountain can be surprisingly cool even in summer, bring a layer.
