Sea views from Casa Alborán, a holiday villa in Nerja managed by Holidays Malaga

Nerja, eastern Costa del Sol

Villas in Nerja

Private pool · Sea views · Balcón de Europa 5 minutes · Local team

Nerja is the town most people picture when they think of a villa holiday on the Costa del Sol: cliffs and coves, the Balcón de Europa, the caves, Frigiliana ten minutes up the hill and a compact old town full of restaurants. It has kept its character because it never allowed high-rise hotels.

We manage two houses here, both a short drive from the beaches and the centre. Villa Nerja is a countryside villa with a private pool, terraces and sea and mountain views, for up to 9 guests. Casa Alborán is a four-storey townhouse on the hills with a private jacuzzi, a games room, a rooftop solarium and views over the Alborán Sea, for up to 10.

Both are managed by our own team, who live 20 minutes away. Prices on each page are real and the availability calendar shows the exact cost for your dates before you book direct.

Why Nerja for a villa holiday

Beaches and coves

Burriana is the big family beach with chiringuitos and water sports; Calahonda and Carabeo are small coves below the old town; El Playazo is the long, quieter beach to the west. Maro and the Acantilados de Maro-Cerro Gordo have the clearest water for snorkelling.

Balcón de Europa

The viewpoint at the end of the old town, with the Sierra Almijara behind and the sea in front. Ice cream, sunset and the evening paseo are the ritual; the streets around it hold most of Nerja's restaurants.

Nerja Caves and Frigiliana

The caves are 4 km east, with the largest stalactite in the world and summer concerts. Frigiliana, one of the prettiest villages in Spain, is a ten-minute drive up the hill and worth a morning and a lunch.

Day trips

Granada and the Alhambra are 90 minutes by motorway, Málaga city 50 minutes, the Axarquía villages (Cómpeta, Torrox pueblo) 20 to 30 minutes. The Río Chíllar walk starts in Nerja itself.

Eating out

The town has more restaurants per inhabitant than anywhere else on this coast: espetos on Burriana, tapas in the old town, and a handful of serious kitchens. Our guide on each villa page lists the ones we go back to.

Getting there

Málaga airport is about 65 minutes by car on the A-7. Both villas have parking. A car is useful in Nerja: the town is walkable, but the villas, the caves, Frigiliana and the best coves are spread out.
