What To Do
One of only three underwater sea caves in the world and Andalucía's most visited cave. The cave system features spectacular stalactite formations, prehistoric cave paintings and a fascinating legend of Moorish treasure hidden within its depths.
Tip: Book a guided tour in advance during summer. The cave maintains a cool temperature year-round, bring a light layer.
Rincón de la Victoria stretches along 5 km of fine sand beaches. La Cala del Moral, El Rinconcillo and La Caleta. These are genuine, less-touristed beaches popular with Málaga locals seeking a quieter alternative to the city beaches.
Tip: La Cala del Moral is the most scenic and sheltered. Go on weekdays to find space even in summer.
A wide seafront promenade lined with palm trees, seafood restaurants and chiringuitos (beach bars) runs the full length of the town. Ideal for a sunset stroll followed by fresh grilled fish and local wine.
Tip: Try espetos (sardines grilled on bamboo sticks over an open fire), this is the quintessential Málaga seaside experience.
A well-preserved 16th-century watchtower standing on the headland between Rincón and El Palo, built as a coastal defence against Barbary pirates. The views from the base across the Mediterranean are excellent.
Tip: Combine with a walk along the coastal path connecting Rincón de la Victoria to Málaga city (approx. 12 km one way).
The old quarter of Rincón has a thriving tapas culture with numerous bars and restaurants serving traditional Malagueño cuisine. Fresh seafood, local wines from the Axarquía region and excellent value.
Tip: Friday and Saturday evenings are lively with locals. Avoid the obvious tourist spots on the seafront and explore the backstreets.
