The Real Andalucia
Beyond the coast, a different Malaga awaits, a landscape of ancient olive groves, whitewashed villages perched on impossible ridgelines, mountain roads where time moves slowly and a quality of silence that most of us have forgotten exists.
Our countryside villa collection features traditional Andalusian fincas, farmhouse estates that have been lovingly restored to offer genuine comfort within authentic rural architecture. Thick stone walls, terracotta floors, beamed ceilings, wood-burning fireplaces and private pools set within terraced gardens with mountain panoramas.
These are properties for guests who want to truly escape, from noise, from crowds, from screens. For those who want to read in an olive grove, cook on an outdoor terrace, watch the Milky Way from a pool lounger and drive to a white village for morning coffee. For guests who know that the best holidays leave you changed.

Experiences
Away from roads, resorts and neighbours, our countryside fincas offer a level of privacy and quiet that no coastal property can match. The loudest sound is birdsong.
Tip: Ideal for digital detox breaks, honeymoons and guests who simply want to disappear for a week.
Many of our rural fincas sit within working olive groves, almond orchards and citrus gardens, producing the extraordinary landscape textures that Malaga's interior is famous for.
Tip: Autumn is particularly beautiful, the light through an olive grove in October is something you will not forget.
The Axarquia region east of Malaga and the Serrania de Ronda to the west offer extraordinary hiking terrain, with routes directly from many of our countryside villas.
Tip: April and May are the best hiking months, wildflowers, mild temperatures and empty trails.
Away from coastal light pollution, Malaga's interior offers some of the darkest skies in southern Spain. On a clear night, the Milky Way is visible with the naked eye.
Tip: Bring a blanket and a bottle of wine. The Andalusian night sky is one of the most beautiful things you'll experience.
The villages of the Axarquia (Frigiliana, Comares, Archez) and the Serrania (Ronda, Grazalema) are at their most magical when approached from a nearby countryside villa.
Tip: Arrive in a village before 10am and after 7pm, the magic is in the quiet hours, not the tourist rush.
Spanish farmhouse architecture, thick stone walls, terracotta floors, beamed ceilings and open fireplaces, maintains a natural cool in summer and warmth in winter that no modern air-conditioning system replicates.
Tip: Many of our fincas have original Moorish architectural elements, water channels, courtyard fountains, ceramic tile floors.

Yes, a car is essential for a countryside villa stay. Public transport does not reach most rural finca locations. We can arrange car hire from Malaga Airport, and most countryside stays benefit from having a car regardless. The roads in the Malaga interior are excellent.
Our countryside properties range from 20 minutes to 1 hour from the coast. Many guests use a countryside villa as a base for day trips to beaches, white villages and Malaga city, giving them the best of both worlds: rural peace at the villa, beach and culture during the day. We clearly state the driving time to the nearest beach for each property.
Yes, significantly. Properties at 400-700 metres altitude are typically 6-8°C cooler than the coast in July and August. This is one of the main reasons many guests prefer the interior in high summer. Nights in the hills are cool enough to sleep without air conditioning.
Finca is the Spanish word for a country estate or farmhouse. In Malaga, fincas traditionally were working farm properties, often with olive trees, almond orchards and vegetable gardens. Today many have been beautifully restored as holiday properties, preserving the traditional architecture while adding modern amenities. A finca stay is one of the most authentically Andalusian holiday experiences available.
